This is such a cool resource on utilizing #LoRa #meshtastic (would #meshcore work too?) based Internet Resilience Clubs.
Next to the illustrated use case of having a resilient channel between network experts, I’m thinking about establishing resilient communication in a #solarpunk way. So local IRCs, intra-connecting a local community as the foundation. But inter-connecting those communities with each other on top of that.
Would that work?

This week-end, Brisbane Area WICEN has its first #EmergencyCommsExercise taking place at Stirling's Crossing, #Imbil this week-end. Some from the Gold Coast Amateur Radio Society are helping us too.
Not sure if we're doing packet radio stuff, we didn't the last two times, but we'll bring the gear needed anyway. Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.
I suspect we'll be operating mostly on VHF (147.150MHz +600kHz FM and 147.500MHz simplex FM).
I'll be posting some photos of the events, AltText will be put in when I get the time to do so.
I just got texted by my brother that I'll need to get that £350 ready in 2 weeks from now.
Commissions are staying open till the end of the month. I ain't gonna like doing this, considering the season, but if you can help a bear out, it'd mean a ton.
Getting told that I got two weeks left when I thought I'd at least have the whole month to round up the money was a shock to me, so if anyone can help at all it'd be greatly appreciated.
Well, an eventful day for all the wrong reasons. What was meant to be a quiet walk to Jolala look-out to commemorate the late wife of one of our party, wound up being an impromptu #EmergencyComms event conducted via #APRS on 145.175MHz and FM voice via VK4RGC 146.700MHz. Fellow bushwalkers helped us with getting our patient back out, and Geoffrey VK2DLA relaying between yours truly and Queensland Ambulance Service.
He's on his way now to Gold Coast Uni hospital for observation.
