A beautiful sunset pictured from our apartment in Edinburgh a few weeks ago. The weather was glorious that week! It hardly rained at all!

Did you know that the Forth Bridge, visible just left of centre, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was the world’s longest cantilever railway bridge when it opened in 1890? It’s still a marvel of Victorian engineering that stands proud on the Scottish skyline.

I was very lucky with the light yesterday; got out of the city because it was dull and grey and cold, and then these happened.

The Forth Bridge, also known as the Forth Rail Bridge, seen from the harbour at Queensferry or South Queensferry. The harbour occupies the bottom half of the frame and has walls on both sides sticking out into the Firth of Forth. The harbour is very still and reflective and home to lots of leisure boats on the left. The Forth Bridge extends across the middle of the frame. The sky is blue in early morning light.

A few months back and a trip to Inchcolm Island in the Firth of Forth took us under the bridge.
