So, a game I was incredibly excited to get my hands on in the early #GBA days was an RTS game called Mech Platoon.
RTS games? In my GBA? More likely than you think!
Conceptually, it is a cool game. Destroyed enemies can be salvaged for parts, which unlocks new mechs to be deployed in future missions.
The campaign features 3 different factions with different bonuses, but a lot of the missions are quite time sensitive, so even though the game has a base building system, most missions don't give you the time ot resources to actually utilise it. The three campaigns are very similar and can get a little tiring halfway through the 2nd run.
The game also struggles a little with pathfinding. You might want to precisely micro manage movement, as units have a habit of getting stuck on each other.
The story of the game likes to wax lyrically a little bit as can be seen on the back of the game box, which is similar to the game's opening movie text.
Enjoyment on this may vary.
