Apple kończy wsparcie iCloud dla iOS 10 i macOS Sierra

Apple oficjalnie wyłączyło obsługę iCloud na urządzeniach działających pod kontrolą iOS 10 i macOS Sierra. Od teraz minimalnym wymaganiem są systemy iOS 11 lub macOS High Sierra.

Oznacza to, że kluczowe usługi takie jak iCloud Drive, Zdjęcia iCloud, Backupy iCloud, Pęk kluczy i Find My nie będą działały na starszych urządzeniach.

iOS 10 i macOS Sierra zadebiutowały we wrześniu 2016 roku. W praktyce zmiana dotyczy m.in. iPhone’a 5, iPhone’a 5c i iPada 4. generacji, które nie otrzymają już dostępu do iCloud.

W przypadku komputerów Mac sytuacja wygląda łagodniej – wszystkie modele zgodne z macOS Sierra obsługują również macOS High Sierra, więc użytkownicy mogą zaktualizować swoje urządzenia do ostatniego wspieranego systemu.

Hope this is an #iOS10 beta only thing as this is a really rubbish way to invoke the Ultra's night mode (which I use a lot). Addition of Widgets has caused a big change:

"How do you invoke Night Mode in iOS 9? Scroll up on the Digital Crown. That behavior will have only lasted a year. Night Mode is still present, but you now have to long-press the watch face, tap Edit, swipe to the third customisation option, and spin the crown to toggle between modes.”

My #iPad4 is ten years old but still has great battery and runs Netflix and Gmail… so for my use it’s still good to go for a few more. But is there a #Mastodon client out there that works on #iOS10? Big ask, I know. #vintageios #vintagecomputing
