This is an abstract black and white landscape photo in landscape format of a row of Rorbu (Fishermens shacks or cottages) along a harbour waterfront. Stamsund, Norway (2015).

The mirror still waters of the harbour rise upwards from the base to the two-thirds up point in the image. Reflected in the water is a row of restored Norwegian fishermen's Rorbu or Rorbuer, historically used a seasonal housing and storage for fishing equipment, now restored and often used as summer cabins. Here there is a row of four rorbu built along a rock lined harbour wall with a further row of rorbu behind. Inset in the harbour wall are four areas of pale, painted wooden planks laid vertically, perhaps covering previously used spaces for storage or moorings. The Rorbu are rendered dark grey (if in colour, they would be a destinctive dark red or maroon (Falun Red) often associated with Nordic buildings). They are constructed of wood, laid vertically, with six white rectangular windows. The centre section has two floors and a flat roof, at either end there is a single floor extension with a pitched roof. Reflected in the water is a small, rock covered mountain devoid of any trees or vegetation.

The location is the small town or village of Stamsund, in the southern Lofoten Islands, in Norway's arctic north.

I now have to confess: The image is inverted, the harbour water was so still it almost allowed a perfect reflection of the houses and mountain behind.
