Das ist die Folge von Jahrzehnten enttäuschter Erwartungen. Seit Carter wurde versprochen, dass #NeoliberalePolitik Wachstum und geteilten Wohlstand bringen würde. Tatsächlich wuchs die Wirtschaft langsamer, und fast alle Gewinne gingen an die Spitze. Das erzeugte Wut und Enttäuschung, die durch #SozialeMedien und #Desinformation weiter angeheizt wurden. Viele Menschen leben in einem Informationsumfeld, das so verzerrt ist, dass sie Wahrheit und Lüge kaum noch unterscheiden können – auch wegen gezielter Irreführung durch die Trump-Regierung."
