For going on 30 years now I've had Knuth's "The Art of Computer Programming" on my shelf, with the goal of someday working my way through it.
I once had dreams of getting a cheque. Now I think I'll be lucky to finish a chapter. (If You Know You Know).
This Leetcode solution for number 31 is actually Knuth's "Algorithm L" for generating the next permutation of elements, in lexicigraphical order, in place.

@SherlockHolmesQuotes Quoted by Donald E. #Knuth at the end of one of the volumes of The Art of Computer Programming, which actually does contain 2 chapters per book, with each chapter being around 250-300 pages.
#Knuth tauchte zum ersten Mal im Protokoll der 1. Sitzung des 21. Deutschen Bundestages am 25.03.2025 auf. Das Protokoll findet sich unter https://dserver.bundestag.de/btp/21/21001.pdf

Ah, yes, the noble pursuit of finding typos in the sacred texts of computer science 🤓. Our hero spends six whole minutes unraveling the mysteries of Knuth's misplaced variables, all to earn Monopoly money from the Bank of San Serriffe 💸. Next up: critiquing Shakespeare for dangling participles. 🎭

Knuth 去年年底 (2024) 在 Stanford 給的 Christmas Lecture
看到 Hacker News 上有人提到才想到 Knuth 每年年底都會給 Christmas Lecture,今年的也不例外:「Donald Knuth's 2024 Christmas Lecture: Strong and Weak

wake up bestie new #knuth lecture dropped:
/* This implements the binary GCD algorithm. (Often attributed to Stein, but as Knuth has noted, appears in a first-century Chinese math text.) */

This was recently sent off to the publisher, and will be landing within a couple of months: The Art of Computer Programming, Volume 4, Fascicle 7: Constraint Satisfaction by #Knuth
