OK fedi, I get it. #Meshtastic sucks and uses proprietary #LoRa chips. So #LoRaWAN is out to.

So what should I be using if I want to set up some battery-powered sensors in the forest around the house. What open #LPWAN stacks are there that would work on 1 to 2 km scale in hilly terrain? #Wize ? #Weightless ? #DASH7 ? So many protocols... Help!

Oh, it can get as cold as -30°C here, so that's a factor as well.

@Techmeme ...since 2018 we tried 3x (unsuccessfully) to share our vast experience of what new/developing tech, such as #lpwa and #das , could bring to small biz and #startups in #detroit and #michigan . Time and time again they'd be asking for what #ip and/or patents we had that could 'entice' AC/VCs. Once realized that we were #bootstrapped and utilizing #opensouce , 'incubators' , counties and even #medc would ignore us. 2023: all is moving to #oss and #wework , for ex, went into bankruptcy...
