Indian Monsooned Malabar.
That coffee sure is special. The raw coffee beans, after bein process from the cherry, is exposed to the monsoon in bags to age for several weeks.
This results in a slightly bleached looking, uniquely yellow coffee bean after roasting.
And while other coffees are often described as fruity or sweet.
The MM for me tastes almost savory.
Tasting notes for me was a dark, bitter chocolate, roasted nuts and has almost sort of .. leathery notes.
That one that I got from the "Cafesito" roastery in Ravensburg is to my liking.
They roast it to a light to medium roast.
Sadly I had other which were either tasting burned or ...off. Like, moldy off.
Which actually isn't surprising giving the method of how it is aged.
It is an interesting coffee for sure, with sadly a good amount of bad coffee.
But if you get a good one, it makes for a great coffee to enjoy.
