So this will be the last time I’ll post about this. Last Wednesday (like last week Wednesday) was my birthday so I finally was aloud to have the Miranda-class model me and Dad did (it was bought as a birthday gift). However, I needed sort out the amp situation as the only place I can keep her is on top of the Acorn; which I FINALLY got around to today! :blobfoxlaughsweat:

I wanted to get some shots with some angles seen in The Wrath of Khan with my Dad’s Constitution II-class model he made when he was a kid… so the first 3 is those pictures plus 1 on top the RiscPC where she now lives at a very visually appealing angle from where I’m sitting! 😄

Finally started this model kit, after it's been sitting on my table for months. I figured *September would be the best time for bat lady!

ATK Girls #15 "Camilla". This series always has enough parts for the casual and armored figures to exist at once. That face mask is really cool!

Built Bandai's 1/12 Darth Vader model kit this weekend. I really love all of their Star Wars kits, though they no longer seem to be produced. Plenty available on the secondary market though and priced pretty reasonably. Torn between C3PO and a Stormtrooper for my next acquisition.

I put the stickers on just to put some color on, but maybe I'll get around to giving him a paint job someday. They're good enough for arms length viewing.

Surprisingly I'm rather on time with this milestone/update! Yesterday the last of the decals has been applied and the Miranda-class model has been put away until my Birthday in a few months.

We ended up using third-party decals because the supplied set was very low quality. We also got some additional detailing decals we would not've had otherwise. Surprisingly the decal we struggled with the most was the ones for the phaser turrets - which wasn't something I was personally expecting. Overall I'm pleased how the entire thing has came out: it looks super pretty (even with the lights off) and I could just look at it for ages! 👀

I think I will take a few photos when I do get this model on my birthday... but the project is basically done, and I'm surprised how quick it (relatively) took to build the model considering me and Dad started at the beginning of April! :apartyblobcat:

I bought some glow-in-the-dark paints a while ago and I decided to try painting a #Gundam with them. It turns out that dollar-store glow-paint isn't exactly the greatest if you want an even coat, but I think it turned out okay, although the glow effect was too faint to really show up on-camera (looks better in person.)

The model is an Entry Grade Build Strike Exceed Galaxy and the colour scheme is loosely based on Action Master Thundercracker.

Another update, another month where I didn't get around to doing it. 😅

A lot of progress once again has happened: The navigation lights (single red/green and white LED bulbs) has been added and soldered into a central wiring loom. A logic board (that's part of the lighting kit) has been stuck in place with silicone, and is connected to the wiring loom for each light that's going on.

Next up was the assembly, which involved lining up the warp nacelle struts into place (along with aligning them to be perfectly straight), and then adding the overhead torpedo launchers. Obviously the saucer section is sealed too. About 98% of the model is sealed with silicone; the idea is that if a bulb fails the model can be opened up again if needed. I think this kit has some QC-issues as the tolerances seems too high - leading to large gaps between pieces being prominent...

It's the home run now: some touch-ups of light leakage, and the decals then it's done!
