Where have I gone wrong? Please reply if you know! #maths #MathsToday #ProblemSolving process #thinking #overthink #problem #school #skill #thoughtoftheday #math #interest Also, do you know, 152,207 x 365 = 55,555,555 ? 🆒

My process to do 152207 × 375 by ( 100000 + 52000 + 207 ) × (300 + 70 + 5):
Drawn a 2 dimensional data table in plain text. The columns are 300, 70, 5 and the rows are 100000, 52000, 207. My mental maths of row 1: 30,000,000 , 700,000 , 500,000. Row 2: I multiplied 300 with 52000, addition of 15000000 ( 3×5000000 ) and 600000 ( 3×0200000 ), answered "156000000". Then 70×52000, 3500000 ( 7×500000 ) + 140000 ( 7×020000 ) = "3640000". Then 5×52000, 250000 ( 5×50000 ) + 10000 ( 5×2000 ) = "260000". Then row 3 of 3: 207 × 300 = 600 00 + 2100 = "62100" , 207 × 70 = 14000 + 490 = "14490" , 207 × 5 = 1000 + 35 = "1035". Added the 3 rows: 30 700 500 + 159 900 000 + 77 625 = "190 678 125". My answer was addition of all the values of the table cells added up: 190678125. Visual layout of the text document and "Schulrechner" web calculator answer of 57077625 added (image).

Description in the post.
اِجْـتِـرار (rumination)

Probably one of the most destructive hidden sides of daydreaming, beside the colorful and pink-glasses view that most texts and people make of it, would be (I argue) the comparison between what you are, what you were, and what you are dreaming to be. An act that is typically stamped as "Rumination"; going over the past all over again and again trying to solve something, something hidden, yet, it's not there, because it is the past and nothing to solve there, but you keep thinking; or maybe I should say, overthinking.

The issue is, at the core, is that you know that it's all gone and can't be fixed, yet, you take some amuse somehow in recalling that broken and fragile Self of the past; maybe somehow and in someway, we can call it a "self-flagellation". Yet, you keep on staring on these broken pieces of yours from the past and try to let them fit together in a hopeless trial to reconstruct, learn, make things better, despite your confirmed acknowledgement that the past will not come back, and it's all gone.

Do yourself a favor, friend. When you find your broken pieces scattered in front of you, just jump over them and keep walking. I'd even say, sweep them under a rug, but probably that would cause you to stare more at these broken pieces of you and your heart for a longer time. So, don't stare, don't touch, just jump over. The puzzle pieces you were hoping to put together to make a picture of you will never fit together, because that someone, and now you are someone else…

Keep on going, my friend…

10 most iconic lines by Dostoevsky that make people sit back and overthink life

The interesting people “We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once, before a word has been spoken.” - A beautiful quote, this one will make people think back about their experiences with people.

Sometimes when I and think: "Hey, that makes sense and has a clean chain of reasoning" and then lose the thread in the middle of a sentence and no longer know what I actually wanted. But then I say it all at once.
That's me. I hate it.

I tend to overthink things, which results in me making incredibly well thought out mistakes.

Color image of a rural streetside mailbox on a South Carolina coastal community. The image shows a white mailbox on a white and pale blue wood post, with the single word, "STARE", on a placard above the mailbox. Cloud-mottled blue sky above, a rural street on the right side of the image, yards, cars, and trees.

When I encounter this with clients, there's a handful of rough approaches I follow to go about finding more .
Let me share some of them with you below.

Firstly, if you have a "hell yeah" or "hell no", then go with that. Don't but simply go with it.

Had a really Bad nightmare. So Bad i cant get back to sleep :( Plus i tend to #overthink stuff, which is happening right now.

What do you guys do after a nightmare?

Usually i try to refocus on other stuff, but it doesnt work for me right now. Im grateful for c/eyebleach in
#lemmy but its not compareable to r/eyebleach, at least for the Moment.

I used to play out the five year rule when getting stuck in my head and overthinking problems. It's a cycle I get stuck in often.

@DavidPetraitis it’s overwhelming to think about the increasing risk of living exacerbated by #climatechange 🥹😳🫣 (keep your head out of the water!)

I want to tell my family but they’ll think I #overthink 😯

This one might sound trivial to some but to me it’s a trip outside the comfort zone.

I went to get my son at work like I normally would but this time I went earlier than usual. Nothing too crazy so far.

I normally park closer of the entrance and this time there’s no available spot so I park a bit further. Again, nothing unusual, just normal.

I tend to just park forward but this time I decided to just back in the parking spot because I was using my truck. I don’t like to park that way but it’s simpler since I’ll see my son going out the door. Again, just pratical, right?

Now comes the interesting part and why I started with this introduction: there’s someone parked on my left and this person just backed away and went for gas in front of where I am. I notice the hood of the car seems open or maybe not properly locked. Normally, I’d just let it go as maybe it’s just broken or the person might not like to be approached by a stranger or whatever reason I tell myself so I don’t have to get out of the truck and go talk to this person.

I decide to just go because this could be dangerous and if this person is annoyed or blows me off or finds me ridiculous, it doesn’t matter. I put my anxiety aside and go. I politely say I think the hood might be unlocked and sure enough it was.

All this to say that if I have been late to pickup my son or parked the other way or in the usual spot or I didn’t decide to go talk to this person, this might’ve turned out differently.

I don’t say this for glory or pats on the back. No.

The crucial part to remember in all of this is I decided to go and talk even when anxiety and pure laziness told me otherwise: just by talking to someone, you might be able to prevent something bad to happen.

Act when you see something wrong instead of simply think it’s not your job. Safety is the job of everyone.
