Le consortium ORCID France publie un jeu de documents de cadrage sur la manière de remplir ORCID quand on est chercheuse, chercheur, établissement ou organisme de recherche en France.

L'agence bibliographique de l'enseignement supérieur, l'ABES, publie le cadre de référence des structures de recherche.
"Ce cadre établit les règles communes définissant les structures de la recherche, notamment l’attribution d’un identifiant national et international unique, la description des caractéristiques de leur mission, les liens tutélaires ou opérationnels qui les relient, ainsi que la gestion de leur cycle de vie. Il identifie également les acteurs impliqués dans la création et l’évolution de ces structures, en précisant leurs responsabilités et les principes encadrant les données qui les décrivent."

Un nouveau référentiel national des structures, RNeST, remplacera progressivement le RNSR. Interopérable et synchronisé avec ROR, il en sera la source de confiance française.
