Trying latest #bitwig beta, I've found that with all the new audio settings we've lost the possibility to add audio inputs and outputs at will.
I used this a lot for routing audio and cv signals inside linux with #pipewire and #qpwgraph
Am I missing something, is there a workaround, or is that possibility lost?
I think I'm going to write devs to implore them to bring it back, but they have never done anything other than saying "thanks for your input".

Hay tanta documentacion de como se hacia antes de #PipeWire en #Linux, que cuesta horrores encontrar como se hace ahora. Una vez lo encuentras, facil: Arrancar todos los programas de #jack con el wrapper pw-jack: pe. `pw-jack -p 512 ardour` (lo de `-p 512` es para evitar latencias de una corchea). Y en vez del #qjackctl para conectar programas, #qpwgraph. Si pw es el camino, igual deberiamos de hacer algo para que el wrapper no sea necesario. No es muy #userfriendly.

That is actually pretty easy! Just draw some lines from an output into an input and now you have 2 inputs!

So, on Sunday, I bit the bullet, and got #Pipewire installed and replaced #PulseAudio.

So far, everything works better, but for some reason, my midi keyboard is acting weird in #ardour... I can't change the instrument there, I have to go to #qpwgraph to route the keyboard.

but hey, I'm one step closer to make music using #freeSoftware... now the only thing missing is... talent...

I switched to #pipewire on ubuntu 22.04 and so far it looks great. Midi keys lag disappeared as well as occasional pitch glitch of #pianoteq synth.

Only thing which was not working out of the box was routing midi events. There is GUI for this called #qpwgraph but how-tos are not mentioning it for some reason.

This is almost magic. I finally set up #pipewire correctly, and now I'm able to (ab)use #qpwgraph [1] to play with my system audio in realtime (editing works seamless).

Like here, I'm using easyeffects [2] to set up a lowpass filter, which I then plugged directly between the output of VLC and the "LFE" output port through to my DIY speaker. It now acts as subwoofer under the table, in addition to regular desktop speakers on the table.

Utilizando #qpwgraph y #JackMixer para grabar por dos canales diferentes mi voz y la de los entrevistados.
Así puedo editar mejor el sonido final.
Encantado con #Pipeware, de lo mejorcito en el escritorio de GNU/Linux.

Just spent the last hour or so messing around with #Guitarix on #Fedora #Silverblue 37, which I installed on a repurposed #Chromebook. Just for fun and because I could. I have to say that #pipewire really makes Jack much easier to work with. Connecting everything to #Ardour7 was super easy with #qpwgraph as well.

jack_lsp -a -p lists the physical jack numbers, which do seem to correspond to the order it lists the channels

#qpwgraph's arbitrary reordering is a bug.

I don't have a gitlab account, but this should be raised as an issue.

I'm messing around with #pipewire, #wireplumber and #qpwgraph. Gotta say, the possibilities here are endless.

I renamed my devices to sensible names, and I created a virtual sink so that when I to stream games to my friends, I can have a much better time routing audio correctly.

(Routing directly from the game is tricky as most games stop playing audio when they go out of focus, disappearing from the graph)
