NoVA Prism Center & Library is teaming up with Reston Museum for our Pride Month Pop-Up to bring our collection of books and resources for the LGBTQIA+ community to Lake Anne during Reston Pride! Come relax with a book, connect with the local LGBTQIA+ community and support our mission to bring access to information about LGBTQIA+ lives, stories, and history to Northern Virginia while participating in the LGBTQIA+ community by gathering to celebrate ourselves, friends and loved ones.

NoVA Prism Center & Library Pop-Ups Feature:
-Books available for reading on location
-Self-care corner with adult coloring books, sensory tools, coloring supplies, and paper
-Kids' Story Circle with books read by a local trans voice actor (12:30pm and 1:30pm)
-Affirming Closet (Gender affirming clothing exchange) and donation drop off, with some free binders (gender affirming compression garment for the chest) available.
-Book donation drop-off
-Nova Prism Center & The Lantern merchandise available as gifts for donation (NEW merch available!)

Event Info
NoVA Prism Center will be at the Reston Museum located at 1639 Washington Plaza, Reston, VA 20190 on June 3rd from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The event is free to attend and welcomes all members of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as anyone looking to learn about the LGBTQIA+ community, its history, the issues that affect it, and the stories of those who are part of it.

NoVA Prism Center is looking for contributors for the second issue of our community zine, The Lantern! Also, WE HEARD YOU: We will be including works by teenage creators (Age 13+) in our Pride Month issue!

All works must somehow represent being LGBTQIA+ in the greater Washington, DC Metro Area (with preference for Northern VA). The rest is up to you! Submit your work to our Google Form at https://forms.gle/Cxnk7MaKYjDVn3Xu6

A note on compensation: We're working out a few wrinkles in how we compensate our contributors. While we cannot share details now, we at NoVA Prism Center vehemently believe that creative labor should be compensated, and we will keep in touch with accepted contributors about what this will look like for the second issue of The Lantern. We see you, and we know that exposure does not buy groceries. 🫶
