OK, it's time to surprise everyone.

It's not the #reMarkable. The RM2 is actually a very solid and polished product. Kind of like old Apple ones — It does little, but does not overpromise. The main reason I had to sell it, was because it was a COVID purchase, and had collected a ton of emotional baggage.

Sadly, it's the #Supernote that sort of threw me away. Based on all I'd seen online, I expected a full-blown PKM system, where in fact, it's a bunch of incongruent, half-baked features.

Great device, but I use one for work and switch to the move for private stuff

@Extelec yeah, I’m hitting these issues. I use WinCUPL and some chip programming tools for GALs and CPLDs and It only just manages to work in Windows.

For CAD, I’d probably use Fusion, but my best option seems to be FreeCAD. Having used AutoCAD for 25 years (2d & 3d), I find FreeCAD to be almost unusable.

I’ve also ruled out buying a #remarkable tablet, because there’s no Linux support, according to their app list. But the device itself runs Linux. Go figure.

Also, when going through my feed, I saw a toot about the Remarkable Paper Pro Move, courtesy of @hedders

The device is built on Linux, and apps are available for Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android and of course Linux. Nah, just kidding, there’s no Linux app, why would they do that? So without a subscription, for a fucking notebook, I wouldn’t be able to back it up.

@hallvors litt på siden, men har prøvd å finne ut av dette i et par timer nå, og siden du har en så kanskje du vet? Finnes det noen måte å overføre Markdown (eller ren tekst) til en #reMarkable? Så jeg kan få den inn som faktisk tekst der og jobbe videre med det?

Personen ved siden av meg på flyet hadde en reMarkable. Samme modell som min. Det var vanskelig å ikke være litt misunnelig fordi han hadde mye stiligere håndskrift enn kråketærne som dukker opp på min skjerm.. 🙈

Since switching to Firefox, I was missing the "Send to Remarkable" plugin from Chrome.

I'm ashamed to say I only just figured out you can replicate that functionality with "Print to PDF" and upload it to remarkable using the app.

Noch ein paar weitere Gedanken zum Thema #remarkable :

- tolles Engineering der Hardware, der Formfaktor des Move ist der für mich spannendste seit dem #psion5

- die Frage ist warum es das Gerät nicht in schwarz weiß und mit folio gibt, fällt mir schwer zu beantworten

- die Handschrift Erkennung zerhaut jede Formatierung - so ist sie sinnlos

- Single purpose Geräte müssen schnell und zuverlässig funktionieren, das #remarkable ist beides nicht

Puh, ich konnte das #remarkable nicht mehr canceln. Hab dem Ding mal eine Chance gegeben.

- die Suche über Notizbücher geht nicht richtig
- der Farbschirm gibt mir nichts
- die Handschrifterkennung entfernt die Vorlage dahinter.
- Synchronisation läuft sehr schnell

got a #remarkable paper pro, and hold on: there's a google drive integration that lets you download PDFs/ePubs

but it doesn't automatically sync them back up to google drive?
