Pumpkin Palpatine has gutted the sciences. This will hurt the diehard magas with the rest of us, but they are too nihilistic to care.

This is an example of what is being eliminated as Republicans in Washington, DC and this administration make catastrophic cuts to scientific research (among other things) to provide tax cuts to and curry favor with billionaires:

So much amazing research out there looking to find cures for awful diseases. So many scientific researchers spending their lives working to advance science.

So much of it now threatened by the outrageous grift and backward looking, hypocritical, lying sanctimonious crooks and dolts in charge in Washington, DC right now. Absolute bums.

I went to a presentation by a scientist doing research for NASA. I asked if there was a plan B if federal funding is withdrawn. Here's his answer. "For centuries, scientific research was funded by wealthy individuals, not by governments. Though it's doubtful the big swings will be funded by any one person, we can still do cool science."

Hi Senators @heinrich.senate.gov and Mike Rounds - love the idea of accelerating science with your #ASAP initiative. Here’s a thought: how about STOP cutting funds to the #NSF for a start? That way, there might still be science left in the US by 2030! #ScienceMatters #ResearchSky #AcademicSky #USPol

Conman Trump is gutting American science—40% cut to NIH, 55% to NSF, 52% to NASA. Economists say it could shrink GDP like the Great Recession. Europe’s snatching our best minds. This is national suicide in slow motion. #TrumpCuts #ScienceMatters www.google.com/url?q=https:...

Make no mistake, this €500M #EU #ChooseEuropeForScience initiative will ripple through the US research scene. Europe’s pulling ahead - and surprisingly, the UK, once a research powerhouse, seems disengaged, perhaps reflecting its own #HigherEd challenges. #USPol #AlwaysChooseScience #ScienceMatters

Excellent exposé from @anniewaldman.bsky.social. This administration terminated 600+ #NIH research grants despite a court order, which is deeply troubling. It’s blatant political interference and a serious blow to #PublicHealth and scientific research. #ScienceMatters #Accountability #USPol #DOGE
