When I saw it advertised in the local classifieds, I was skeptical. It sounds like the bastard child of an Ford Escort and a Japanese drift car.

But for a beginner, it's supposed to be bullet proof, and parts are easily obtained if necessary. And it's £40! Cheaper than a single table runner from John Lewis.

I want to make soft stuff for all the hard surfaces because of sound sensitivities. Curtains out of amazing bed covers, table runners, bookcase decorations, even a bag if I can work it out.

I best find a book or two in the library:

I'm surprised to see that though there are actually some Singer Touch and Sew related models on Thingiverse, including bobbin cases/organizers, nobody appears to have attempted to 3D print replacement bobbins (which are unique to this line of old Singers). I have heard that these machines are picky about pitted or otherwise imperfect bobbins, but I'd be willing to bet you could produce a workable analogue, worst case scenario, on an SLA (resin) printer, probably with a tough resin. As far as FDM is concerned, I would be surprised if it was impossible, but I imagine it'd probably be more trouble than it's worth (much post-processing, vs. buying like a 20-pack for $15 online).

I just got enough #dopamine to start something and just #sew a case for my cup that I keep in deep dirty internals of my backpack from a leftover #jeans like #fabric. My first asymmetric #sewing with round bottom and I aced it in the first try. With my signature friction know to hold it all together 😎

Finally got back to the sewing machine. Not much to see picture wise, but I've replaced all the wiring as well as the speed control pedal. I found a machine on ebay, cheap, that had a better motor (far less arcy-sparky) and swapped motors. The color, suprisingly, isn't an exact match but it gets it working until I can rebuild the original if I decide I care that much.

Sewists ! Sewing machine question:

I am sewing two piece of fabric together, with a simple straight stitch. One is cream and one as red.

In sewing machine red is on top and cream is underneath.

If I want to colour match thread what do I put into bobbin - cream or red thread ?
