This beguiling comet flys past Exoplanet 67729 every 193.4 years. It is composed of a carbon outer shell and an inner core of -confusingly- proteins. As the comet passes the sun, due to heat and pressure, the proteins warm and expand, slowly extruding through fissures onto the surface. Forming volcanic-like towers and web-like tendrils. Over the centuries -at 193 year intervals- the locals held sacrifices to the gods, which morphed into purges of undesirables, then celebrations, and now, because of expanded technology, it’s mostly ignored.

But a spider made their home in the seed and covered the spikes with web, as well as down the branch. It looks like it was made in a wind tunnel, almost like a comet in space.

A photo of several strands of a spiderweb, woven between two pieces of wood making up the structure covering our well. The strands are covered in ice, which "grows" out of them into crystals - but only to the left, on the right side of each strand the ice is smooth. At the top and bottom, where the strands are attached to the wood, they are free of ice. The wood itself is old, not smooth, painted brown a long time ago. In the background, the inside of the blurry well covering can be seen.
