La campaña por el NO a la continuidad de la dictadura de Pinochet en 1988 fue una campaña histórica, fresca, alegre, clara, juvenil y revolucionaria que marcó un quiebre en la comunicación política chilena. La campaña logró transmitir un mensaje positivo, basado en la esperanza y la alegría, más que en el odio o la violencia, con eslóganes y jingles que incentivaron a votar por el fin de la dictadura. La simbología del arcoíris y la canción «Chile, la alegría ya viene» se transformaron en íconos populares que conectaron con la ciudadanía de manera emocional y optimista. El comando del NO, formado por diecisiete partidos de centroizquierda, presentó un mensaje que terminó con el miedo y motivó una amplia movilización social y juvenil para el plebiscito realizado el 5 de octubre de 1988. La campaña se caracterizó por su creatividad publicitaria y por el uso de una propaganda televisiva innovadora, que iluminó con colores vivos y música alegre los hogares chilenos en plena dictadura, invitando a la esperanza y a la democracia.
