One of the most search functions in any software application ever written and published ever, surely must be, imho, the one in the Object Explorer of . Yes, it displays results if found... and then won't let you do anything with that knowledge.

Looking for a view or stored procedure? Found here! But no link, no click to access, no open, no nothing. You get a path.

And thanks, Microsoft. Do better.

Dear #Microsoft #SQLServerManagementStudio

Maybe MOVE the 'New Query' button away from the 'Execute' button?

I am sure I am not the first person to suggest this.

In this post I cover my favorite SQL Server Management Studio tips and tricks that I've picked up along the years, and on which I rely on a daily basis in my workflow.
Some of these include: generating scripts for multiple indexes, multi-line editing, using the clipboard ring (yup, SSMS has a 20-item clipboard history).

Why does pretend to take a long time "creating a script" when requesting a view definition? The definition is stored in the information_schema. Using we can request it, and it pops up instantly. What does think its doing?

did a good job lowering the memory consumption of / with version 2019. Now please make it faster. Opening and closing query windows is very slow. Changing DB view statements (which I do a lot) is very involved.

Yes, , I really do want you to focus the cancel button on the log-in dialog whenever I get my password wrong. I just love shift-tabbing 3 times to try again.

The log-in dialog to connect to SQL Server, with its cancel button focused, because I mistyped my password.
