Diese Standalone TomTom Geräte sind echt robust. Ich habe gestern noch ein Tomtom G0 500 aus dem Schublade geholt das ich seit Jahren nicht mehr im Bertrieb hatte. Es ließ sich noch laden und auch Software und Karten ließen sich auf einen aktuellen Stand bringen.
Der einzige Nachteil: diese Mydrive Connect Software gibt es nur für Windows.

#CoMaps (@CoMaps) bzw. #organicMaps (@organicmaps) funktionieren ganz gut zur life navigation auf #openstreetmap basis.

Wenn man verkehrsinfos benötigt muss es aber wohl kommerziell werden. Das gute alte #tomtom aus den #Niederlanden kostet um die 20€ pro Jahr und bietet neben #offlineNavigation eben auch verkehrsinfos (und blitzerwarnungen).

Aber ja, ein #Smartphone benötigt man für alle 3.

I now use Android Auto with the free #TomTom app. It works for me.
The price that #Peugeot demands is outrageous. Neither app nor services work that well.

Your car is never really yours. Today the free trial of the built-in #Peugeot / #Tomtom navigation ended. I can have it back though, for only €100 a year. Feels a bit like having to pay ransom.

Now, for features like maps, a reasonable fee makes a bit of sense. There are costs associated with keeping maps up to date, hosting and such. But for "dumb" non-connected features like lane assist, adaptive cruise control and even bloody seat heating? That's just madness. I'm not sure, but I hear that BMW is especially shitty in this regard.

#TomTom stworzyl nowa, darmowa wersje swojej nawigacji na telefony (tzn. przynajmniej na #Android.a), ktora nie wymaga subskrypcji.

To moze byc fajna opcja, zeby sie zapoznac z ich algorytmami wyznaczania trasy, chociaz w porownaniu do wersji platnej brakuje mi kilku opcji, np. podgladu #POI na calej trasie (wyswietlanej z boku, jako linia). W zamian - dali opcje zgloszen drogowych, ktorych w platnej wersji nie ma (tam jest tylko opcja zglaszania fotoradarow i kontroli).
