I designed a set of 10 Christmas ornaments that can be 3D printed in vase mode for Printables’ Winter Holidays Decorations contest.

I knew when I started my design process that I wanted to design something that could be printed in vase mode.

The cups made of PVC pipe break leafs of lettuces. I'll replace them with a rounded-edge, #vaseMode #3dprinted net cups. They fit a 110 mm pipes #VerticalGarden. Let me know if there's anyone interested with the #STL or .scad files.

A #3Dprinted table in #vasemode I'm going to use it as a bedside table and as a proof of concept for other things I have in mind.

I designed an adjustable support for my camping shelf which is super lightweight and strong at the same time 😁💪

The model is about 35g PLA with .4mm wall thickness and can easily handle a load of 25Kg.

For testing purposes my daughter ~ 26-27Kg stands on it 😅

The model is printed in vase mode and will be released soon on printables 🤗

I'm test printing some vase-mode baubles and one section near the top keeps exhibiting this weird pattern of thin stripes. Anyone have experience with this problem?
Turning off the part fan does t help, and neither does slowing the print speed way down (I went as low as 7mm/s when usually I print vase mode at 65).
My next experiment is thicker layer height. I'd also like to try thicker extrusion width but this model has some elements that break if I go too high ☹️

#3DPrinted a pot for a pilea peperomioides offshoot. Das Filament Tonweiß (claywhite) PLA, #Vasemode .48 layers, double extrusion width, .6 nozzle.

And it only took 5 hours with my homemade 1.0mm nozzle at 0.2 layer height. Now only if I can get it to stop making black blobs.

I had a 3D printing breakthrough today when I realized that vase mode always falls afoul of the minimum layer time thanks to the height constantly increasing. Nuking the minimum layer time when running vase mode gives me much more control over the speed and now I'm racing along at 80mm/s rather than 10 😁
