A small bench mount vice with a close up on the jaws. The small rectangular jaws are 3d printed in PET filament salvaged from a pop/soda bottle via my pullstruder.

This earlier test piece shows the mechanism. It's good and solid.

A three-piece assembly. The largest piece has a rectangular slot open on both ends. The medium size piece slides in from the front. It has two springy arms that lock into detents in the slot wall. The small, U-shaped piece slides in from the back and forces the springy pieces into the divot.

This is just a test piece. It's a 1x1 Gridfinity base for the tool wall, but mostly I wanted to see if I could make this 3 piece construction method work. By printing the tray flat, I reduce the number of color changes and make shapes possible that have too much overhang as a one-piece.

This was a pain to model. Someday I should design something that has right angles.

The 3D printed Gridfinity holder has slots to hang from an IKEA SKÅDIS pegboard. It is blue with a gold highlight around the bin edges. It is made of multiple pieces slid together. A 1x1 Gridfinity bin is sitting next to it.

Back side of the unit. The tray has been slid into place, and the clip is ready to be pushed in.

Thre three pieces of the holder. The biggest part is a single color (blue). It has a base plate that goes against the pegboard and a support that holds up a tray. The tray slot goes all the way through. The tray is two colors (blue and gold). It has springy tabs that engage divots in the big part. The third part is a U-shaped clip.

Back side of the unit, fully assembled. The back edges of the tray, clip, and base plate are flush.

I ended up solving the screen problem where I'm having hard time to see IC-7000 display in bright light with this.. apparatus :D

Why so strange shape? Well, the radio is typically on a small table and I anyways look at it from angle, so why not make it conform that :)
