Today I Realized:

Though the immersive electronic entertainment industry uses #VR #AR, and #XR for #VirtualReality, #AugmentedReality, and #ExtendedReality …

that #XR is *also* an abbreviation for #ExtinctionRebellion! Imagine my confusion sifting through *those* hashtags that are in languages I don’t speak!

Perhaps this played a big part in why #Apple switched from #xrOS to #visionOS for their #VisionPro headset. 🤔 It’s less confusing, and easier to search/filter. 🤷‍♀️

I ran a rebuild of the #SwiftUI Changelog now and the diff is basically thousands of lines of something like this 😛 (not deployed yet) #xrOS #visionOS

I’m kind of glad they went with #VisionOS, every time a #WWDC23 presenter says “#xrOS” my brain hears “PixarOS” 🤣.

Just watched one of Apple's developer talks for the #VisionPro and they called it #xrOS instead of #visionOS. And doesn't Xcode also mention "xrOS devices"? It must have been a pretty recent change. I think visionOS rolls off the tongue easier. It also seems less technical. And no jokes about Ten-Arr-Oo-Ess, after we all struggled with pronouncing the iPhone XR correctly …
