Heya! I'm an academic librarian (& also public libraries), writer, and crafty type. Currently living in wet but beautiful West Yorkshire. Cat mum (of course, because books + cats = happiness).

@emery I love this! Gorgeous colours. Must get my wheel.out and catch up #tourdefleece2023
It's been a while - life and full-time work has been quite full on! - but here's the report & recommendations from our research project on students' use of our library service during the lockdowns, restrictions, and post- lockdown (obvs not post-pandemic as I believe we're still technically in one...): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ECB7Y3WN_C9DFVM-wRbKx9IEmQadS1it/view?usp=sharing #HEinFE #libraries #academiclibraries
@jnyrose definitely would love to chat :-) We're a little different in that we have HEI partners so online resources vary. One thing we're slightly struggling with is recruiting students as participation is voluntary. We have a lot of "non-traditional" learners who may have returned to ed with different responsibilities on top of uni study so wondering if this is impacting participation. Possibly a question for later investigation!
I'm Amy,
I'm a Writer, Folklorist and part time Goblin who focuses on Shropshire Folklore, with a focus on ghosts and #Ghostlore.
I am also a trainee history teacher, and the Brand ambassador for Haunted Magazine.
You can expect ghosts, history and general weirdness of Shropshire π
New instance, new #introduction! I work in #highered in the UK, mostly around #StudentSupport, #InclusivePractice, #Belonging and #AcademicSkills. I spend a lot to time thinking about how to ensure our students have agency and voice in the work we do with them. I want to hear about what you think and what you're working on!
@jnyrose ace! Would love to hear more about your work. I'm in the #library of a small #HEinFE campus where work is varied & interesting! We're currently working on a research project investigating students' experiences before / partial-reopening / after lockdowns using library resources, & what the barriers are/could be to using the services in the future. It's a small project for internal use but I'm hoping that our findings could be useful elsewhere if we can glean enough data.

@thefolklorepodcast x he was an amazing human
I work in an academic library & love how diverse my job is. On any day I could be looking up legislation or reference troubleshooting (APA7 & Harvard here) or proofing ppts or researching or changing passwords or locating books on the shelf or designing posters or giving workshops on how to use the library or managing reading lists. (As well as other tasks!) If you are an #academiclibrarian is your job as varied or is this unique to smaller HEIs / uni campuses? #librariansofMastodon #libraries
@dearydarling thank you :-) I always feel so lucky; I love living here.

@florianveltman this looks utterly beautiful. I loved Monument Valley too. To the SteamDeck!
Greetings! I'm Julian Hoffman, a writer living beside the Prespa lakes in northern Greece. My work primarily explores #place, #nature, #community & the #climate & #biodiversity crises.
As these lakes are shared by Albania & N. Macedonia too, I'm also interested in borders, bridges & transboundary co-operation.
My latest book is called IRREPLACEABLE (Penguin, 2020), which tells the stories of local communities across the world fighting to save threatened places & wild species.

@mike I'm in an am dram group & we're rehearsing for a production of 80 Days Around the World (which is soon...eek). It's being great fun! How about you?
Heya, I've not properly introduced myself except in the bio. I'm Jen, live in beautiful wet West #Yorkshire, work in an academic #library & as a casual (read: zero hours) for our local library service. Would love to connect with other #librarians & #libraryWorkers
Also interested in linking with #creatives, & #academic researchers, in #geohumanities & #placewriting because I've gotta put that PhD to use somehow ;-)
Love to write #MGFantasy, #cnf, & #fiction.
Expect pics of cats too πββ¬
@ratty222 thank you! He is one of three (!)
