Only four days left at work before Eurovision! I'm working Mon-Tue next week but then I'm off after that til the following Tuesday, holy week is nearly here! 🥳
I'm queer, transmasc, and autistic. I'm in my mid-40s, and I live in the north of England. I like trees, fungi, and invertebrates, especially snails and shieldbugs. My hobbies are knitting, drawing, painting, and playing cute Switch games. I am also a big fan of Eurovision!
I'm a nature-based pagan, and my practice is based around connecting with the non-human natural world, and trying to live a gentle sustainable life.

@Bikil thank you!
I drew one of my favourite caterpillars, an Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillar 🐛
I love the eye-like markings on the side, they look so much like glossy beady eyes!
My reaction when I get a phonecall at work:
@therivercrow good luck, hope it goes well 💚
I was reading this interview with an academic studying modern Latvian paganism, and I really liked his definition of religion as "worship, or a relationship to things that are considered sacred". That last bit is a good match for how I think about my druidry practice - it's about building a relationship with the Earth, which is sacred to me.
Now that I'm trying to avoid anything even vaguely depressing online, it's become apparent to me how much of my internet browsing habits involve reading threads where people are (understandably) angry or upset about things. Definitely need to build some better habits! 😅
She heard me talking and turned around, such a pretty kitty! 😻 #Caturday #CatsOfFedi
The highlight of our day out was this little bee (a nomad bee, we think), who spent two whole hours sitting on @lemondisco's hat, riding around with us as we walked from York towards Bishopthorpe. It even stayed on the hat while we ate our sandwiches, and only eventually flew off when some little flies started bothering it. What a cutie! It felt like having a special guest on our walk :blobaww:

A mint moth has arrived on the raised bed wildflower meadow. If I poke around there are probably hundreds. It is small. Under a centimetre.

Last night I had two similar, but different species, with the most amazing #faces
Top - Spectacle
Bottom - Dark Spectacle (albeit a faded specimen)
Difference is Spectacle has more defined band & stigmata on the forewing whereas Dark Spectacle is more plain charcoal grey with redder cross lines. Both have #spectacle faces

By sheer force of will, I am absolutely not going to let depressing news spoil my birthday/anniversary weekend. I'm determined to have a nice time no matter what! 💪
Saw these glorious mushrooms during a walk in a park. Thank you to my spouse @allie for pointing them out, I was looking down at the path to make sure I didn't trip and totally would have missed them! #FungiFriday
Snails on my way to work today. Maybe on their way to work too? I helped them along to the other side.

@Tooden thanks! ☺️
@therivercrow ah good point... Maybe a hoverfey is a fey creature who's a good wasp mimic but doesn't sting :blobthinking:
Just accidentally wrote "hoverfey" instead of hoverfly, and tbh I quite like the idea of a tiny hovering fey creature 😄
