I tried to register in the wait list of Google's new AI, Bard. It said my country wasn't supported. What? I feel it's a kind of discrimination at best. Why did Google discriminate people based on their residential country for a service?
I had a feeling that AI technologies will divide people's knowledge, have a big gap in the right to use a service, generally based on individual's income or a country's economy. Unfortunately, it's sad but true 😓
I used this book, Beginning Lua Programming, as my first book in learning Lua. I think it's good for a complete beginner like me, easy to follow. Lua's official book is not suitable for me as it expects to have prior knowledge of some programming skills.
Thank you Kurt Jung and Aaron Brown (the two authors) for teaching me! You are my first teachers for Lua.

I wanted to learn a programming language as a hobby, not for profession. I am a complete beginner. The language that I intended to learn should be super easy, lightweight and general purpose (Turing complete). So, I tried C++ and it was too difficult for me. Python or JavaScript could be a good choice but they're still complex and somewhat resource intensive. Finally, I found Lua.
I just began learning Lua a few days ago and it's very easy to catch up.
Any thought and tips?
@simonemargio I have never used Twitter before. I have been using Facebook since 2008 almost on a daily basis. Facebook is the most popular platform where I live. Unfortunately Facebook, like many other Tech companies, is following the same pattern as Twitter and I personally don't like the way they treat their employees. They should have done more professionally. So, I quit FB and join Mastodon. Happy to see you here.

@simonemargio I think it's cruel. In the end, they're are more interested in their profits. Loyalty means nothing for them. We need to change our mindsets. I think it's better to equipment ourselves with skills, not loyalty. There will always be opportunities for those who are skilful at their jobs. For profit companies will always behave like for profits.

I have never trusted companies will be taking care of their employees' wellbeing.
They are just taking care of themselves and their interest.
I will work in a company as long as I think it's OK for me. Once I find something isn't right, I try to find another opportunity.
Always be prepared to get fired anytime.

Meta products have many features that most other products have. Well, it's NOT an innovation, it's a copycat! And they're trying to make profit out of it.
A local resistance force, a group of freedom fighters known as People's Defense Force or #PDF, wants to buy a sniper rifle to fight with the military regime. So, they are making a donation campaign. They go to village after village to raise a fund for the gun. It costs 10000 Kyats (roughly 3.5 USD) per coupon. I bought two coupons for the cause.
