Hydrogen is key to green energy, but storing it safely is a huge challenge. What if we could store it using everyday baking soda? 🧪

In the newest episode of Innovate and React, I chat with Jonas Massa from AKROS Energy about their innovative, non-toxic salt solution for storing and transporting hydrogen. It is a game-changer for safe, decentralized energy! ⚡

A watercolor-style illustration of a scientist in a lab coat examining a flask of clear liquid and a beaker of white salt. Above him, bold text reads: 'Safe Hydrogen Storage with Salts: Alternative to Pressure Tanks and Ammonia'. The laboratory background features various glassware, a machine labeled 'ELECTROLYZER', and a large metal storage tank labeled 'SALTWATER'. In the bottom left corner is the 'Innovate and React' podcast logo.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we used small alkanes like methane for instead of just burning them.
Processes like steamreforming go in the right direction however it’s not using the carbon.
In my latest episode of i talked to @AndresMacons about his work in which he made methane accessible through photocatalysis! Super interesting Chemistry!

My linocut portrait of Claudine Picardet in late 17th century wig with ringlets and dress, holding a book behind a table with a collection of minerals and scientific glassware for chemistry experiments. The print on white Japanese paper is made in a gradient of pale purple at the top through magenta to rose-bronze at the bottom with the exception of the taps at the top of one of the vessels which are in bronze.
