@CuratedHackerNews This project has serious #licensing issue, there are extra limitations supposedly imposed on top of #MIT #license, but that's not how open source licenses work. Especially if someone checks the license in crates.io.

Now, all people can have opinions, me, you, #Stallman, GUIX devs...
And they have the right to express their opinions, as both RMS and those GUIX devs did.
But they had plenty of space in their personal blogs and socials to do so.
Using the blog of guix, even ignoring the opinions of several mainteiners that still hate to be associated with that "joint statement", was #bullism.
Thus I'll consider Guix again when I'll see another joint statement on their home page apologizing for that vile attack to RMS.

Problem: the GPL is poison. It has polluted Linux and the Linux userland software so that only large corporations can afford to monetize it. BSD License or MIT License would be much better allowing small players to produce unique work without then being forced to share their source code with the AI hegemony racket.

The problem of course will be people resentful of being made fools of. They just show up and there they are, doing it to themselves. They won't need your help.
But if you happen to be in the vicinity they will blame you for their foolishness...
One thing I haven't got my head around yet is memory management. I previously assumed that there was no support for virtual memory at all, but I'm not sure that's the case - I've now seen a paper which discusses what might be support for it as one of the hardware modifications which were made to the #MIT machines to support #CTSS, but also suggests it wasn't actually used. In any case, presumably memory fragmentation needs to be dealt with somehow. I think I need to either look at how the emulator is implemented or do some experiments.

Wirtschafts- und Sozialflügel der #CDU wollen im #Klimaschutz doch nicht hinter Saudi-Arabien oder Indien zurückfallen – oder die Parteiführung lässt das zumindest nicht zu. Ein entsprechender Antrag für den Parteitag, der im Februar stattfindet, wurde nach taz-Informationen am Montag entschärft. Die beiden Versionen des Antrags liegen der taz vor.
Die Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion #MIT hatte gemeinsam mit der Christlich-Demokratischen Arbeitnehmerschaft #CDA beantragt, dass die #CDU sich dafür einsetzen soll, das deutsche Ziel der Klimaneutralität 2045 um fünf Jahre auf 2050 zu verschieben. Weil die Europäische Union erst 2050 klimaneutral werden will, sei das 2045-Ziel eine „Übererfüllung“.
Darüber hinaus forderten die selten einigen Wirtschafts- und Sozialflügel im Antrag, auch das europäische Ziel der #Klimaneutralität bis 2050 zu kippen....
