My #sewing machine has come back to life! Pulled it out to sew some strapping for a flower press I made for my #nemesis/daughter last month to find that it was somehow jammed up. Ripped her open to find the main drive shaft had slid out enough for the needle... uh... drive shaft thingy (don't know what it's called) was hitting the presser foot pressure adjuster inside the machine. Got it apart AND back together. That doesn't always happen with me! #repair #diy
@nullagent Luigi is not a hero. I do not believe he deserves the death penalty, but murder is murder. The CEO also deserved consequences. That is likely where legal changes need to happen.

#gimp, the Graphic Image Manipulation Program that I use, reminded me that 3.0 is out! Exited for the newness, I installed it and quickly uninstalled 2.1 just to figure out #bimp, a batch editing plugin that I use all the time, was incompatible. Luckily, #batcher is there to fill my needs. I love this #opensource #foss stuff!

#vegan pizza. #homemade crust. Normally would have a homemade cashew "mozzarella", but I used #daiya cheese 'cause it was under three bucks on sale. The protein is #traderjoes Italian "sausage". There's also diced button mushrooms, sauteed peppers, and some onions that I caramelized as my wife requested them (and they're delicious). Used the Tunisian olive oil in the background. It was much more affordable than the Italian stuff right now due to, among other things, #climatechange . Tastes good!

Finally getting around to my next batch of #fermentation #pickled vegetables. Below the murky orange #brine is about 1.4 kilos of grated carrots and 18 grams of ginger.
Had the kid over for her birthday for the last couple of days and gave her the #flowerpress I #lasercut for her. The straps had to be hand sewn 'cause the machine is down (problem has been located). Inside are cut pieces of cardboard, like the one below the press in the picture, and between them are pairs of sheets of blotting paper made for the task. #glowforge #laser #parenting
I ask myself what the motivation for the anti-seed oil sentiment and the most likely candidate, at it's root, has gotta be money. I don't know if people are invested in beef fat or just want enough influence over enough people to sell enough of their next book or trademarked brand of cooking fat or what, but it's not a change in our understanding of nutrition. Just finished Dofamine VR on #Steam #VR /w #MetaQuest. I'd call it quite #mid. 1.7 hours total playtime, including using the barely implemented "seated" mode and having to turn it on and off to pick things up. The puzzles were fine, story was eh, visuals were fine but monotone. Achievements still have the seemingly default "NEW_ACHIEVEMENT_DESC_1_0".
