Perhaps the modernized hat tip—removing one’s ear buds to say hello—is more powerful than we could’ve ever imagined.

Motion to change all instances of "food desert" to food apartheid because it speaks to the systems-level barriers communities face when accessing food.

Newly disabled people aren’t given a ‘how-to’ guide. Disability doulas are closing those gaps.

The community care practice, pioneered by queer women of color, reorients newly disabled people to a different life – a necessity that has grown during the pandemic era.

Paper:

"Purpose in the Pandemic: Fear of COVID-19, Hopelessness, Meaning in Life, and Suicidal Thoughts Among Two Samples of Black Americans"

The mental health experiences of Black Americans remain understudied in existing COVID-19 research. While several vital reports highlight disparate physical health outcomes--and even
higher mortality rates among Black Americans few queries have considered the current mental health concerns for this particular group. This investigation therefore examines correlates associated with experiencing suicidal ideation at the beginning (e.g., 2020) and in a later phase (e.g., 2022) of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

An estimated 5 million, or 1 in 10, older Americans experience elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Working together across our networks, we can generate awareness and foster action to end elder abuse. Let’s work to keep everyone safe as we age.
