Today was exciting! On mostly a whim, I went bungee jumping this morning.
We also saw LOTR filming locations for the Fords of Bruinen, the Pillars of Argonath, and Isengard. I also wrote about 560 words on the new Shifting Lands book!

Our second full day in Queenstown, and we took a fast boat ride and a slow boat ride! The TSS Earnslaw is a steamboat built in 1912, the same year as the Titanic. Wrote about 1100 words on the ride back, on the new Shifting Lands book!

Have fully and officially finished editing Lună's Vision!
Next week is my (new) monthly self-care week where I won't be doing any writing, but Feb first I'll be handling the formatting and front/back matter.
I am in the home stretch.

How satisfied are you with your current story? Why or why not?
Rereading it now, for the purpose of reviewing and editing, I am very satisfied. It makes me smile and even laugh in places
Here’s a sample:
#WritersCoffeeClub - 23 Jan.
There’s satisfaction in crafting a good sentence. What satisfies your writer's ear?
Here’s one from the text I’m editing right now:
‘Jim is silent while he sips his tea.’
It’s simple but it sings
The repeated ‘i’ helps and the repeated ‘s’
And the i-sounds resolve in the ‘ea’ of tea at the end ☕️
I have no idea, tbh
Gonna try to finish editing Luna's Vision before Shabbat starts.
Wish me luck!
Had a great day tour around Queenstown and surroundings today. We got some local honey, and saw some beautiful scenery! Also got in about 1180 words on the new Shifting Lands book!

Editing done for the day, only one chapter left on Lună's Vision, which I should be able to finish tomorrow without much trouble.
Third round edits -- mostly just proofreader -- usually goes pretty quickly, so I should have a finished manuscript soon.
Another 1760 words on the new Shifting Lands book while finishing our 40+ hour travel to Queensland in New Zealand! Did a little sightseeing tonight, but tomorrow we have an all-day tour!

Ugh slugging through another round of edits on my upcoming new book, Train Europe. Pain the arse, but they do improve the text. And I need to head off any attempts by the editors to rewrite bits of the text. ;)
Time for some editing. Aiming for a chapter and a half. Wish me luck!
It's #WIPWednesday so have a snippet from Luna's Vision:
Natalia smiled at him, eyes gleaming. "Clear sight. You'll also be able to see wounds and weaknesses." She flushed and cleared her throat, "According to Ozana it can have… other uses."
"Other-" Marcus shut his mouth with a snap and turned to study the floor. Oh, he was definitely blushing now.
"Weaknesses, huh?" Victor whistled. "Hey, Marcus, where's Leyla ticklish?"
"Don't you dare!" Leyla squealed when Marcus turned to look at her. "Marcus Lear if you say one damned word I will-"
"Dishes."
Everyone blinked.
"What?"
"You do the dishes for the next week," Marcus said, a wicked grin lighting up his face, "And I'll keep your secret."
"That's blackmail!"
"Nah, giving my teammate some extra motivation."
They were still arguing when the pizza arrived.
Got in another 1240 words today on the new Shifting Lands book while flying to San Francisco. Got to see the city, and now we're waiting to board a plane for New Zealand for a 2-week adventure!

Grammar help please. Is this apostrophe in my wip correct? This is a blind spot that I have not been able to overcome.
**
The gnome, it's ear broken off during the affray, had no case for compensation at all.

Ugh. One hour to edit one chapter and I am WIPED. Think I did good though. At least, I caught and fixed a bunch of stuff, including two consistency errors.
But damn did that take a lot out of me.
Gonna futz with formatting a bit and take a break.
Time to get some editing done on Lună's Vision.
Starting second round edits today, with a focus on pacing, dialog, and word choice.
I put this out on #LinkedIn earlier - will see if I get any responses…
People may ask how my background in English Language Teaching (ELT) connects to non-profit work.
The answer: more than you might think!
In ELT, I’ve spent years helping learners of all levels understand complex ideas, in language that’s clear, inclusive and culturally sensitive.
Those same skills are exactly what non-profits need to communicate effectively with donors, volunteers, communities and stakeholders.
Here’s what my ELT experience brings to non-profit editing:
Clarity: Making complex information accessible to diverse audiences
Inclusive language: Representing intersectional identities, particularly LGBTQIA+ communities
Audience focus: Understanding who you’re speaking to and tailoring tone and content accordingly
Ethics and empathy: Crafting content that is responsible, respectful and impactful
In short, helping English learners navigate the world equips me to help non-profits communicate their mission clearly and inclusively.
If your charity or NGO wants materials or texts that are polished, accessible and reflective of your values, I’d love to collaborate. You can either reach out here or email me at peter@peterjfullagar.co.uk
