- In my usage #DejaVuBackup & #PikaBackups both work very well. #Celeste too for syncing files with #Nextcloud

- Everything #AppManager does is possible w/ #Flatseal, #GnomeSoftware, & opening #flatpak manifests or specific to #Android activities, which are loosely analogous to #DBus services, which #DSpy works well for.

- Never used #Gemini, but #Alpaca works super well with communicating w/ #LLMs via #Ollama. Would make for an awesome #GNOME #SearchProvider

Probably good time to make everyone aware of AppManager, it's basically an open-source application manager, but you can basically overview and adjust all permissions and services an app is allowed to run and have access too.

It also makes it so easy to disable all trackers and spyware interactions from proprietary apps.

It also can be used as the default installer, allowing you to install apps in the background. Also allows you to select modules in packages to install that normally aren't accessible (like language packs)

This is not really hijacking the localisation of #Ubuntu. It's pure abuse. Abuses in Hosted #Weblate have become quite frequent lately. This is why in #AppManager, I have taken the following measures:

- Disabled automatic push (not just Weblate, any bot does not deserve such rights in first place) and PR creation
- Accept translations from those who have already contributed in the past or explicitly asked me to accept their contributions via official channels. This is quite tiresome work as I need to sit down and check each commit to see if the contributor is new and discard the commit if they are.

Hosted Weblate could easily fix this (and reduce the burden) by allowing membership in their FOSS plan.
