So I somehow #borked the headless Mac when I installed the WiFi drivers. By borked I mean I somehow killed the Ethernet connection and had poopy WiFi speeds.

Thus I am gonna try something new…

Have delivered #borked #coffee machine to place that serviced it about 6 months ago just before I got it (second hand from relative) for them to see what is wrong and hopefully fix it.

May be 2 weeks without it ... have to break out the old pod machine as the emergency coffee machine backup

MacOS Sequoia has borked SMB connections to Synology NAS. This is a problem if, like me, you use a NAS as storage for a Mac mini (Plex, etc.) server.

There are various suggestions on Reddit that didn’t work for me.

What has worked so far is to replace the nsmb.conf file with this one that was posted on the Plex forums.

It’s also recommended to use AutoMounter app, and to keep a finder window open to the NAS.

1/13/26 Update 1: the #Debian Bullseye server iso I used had a bunch of odd problems compared to the previous #XFCE Debian iso I have used on the #MangoPi Quad.

Did a reinstall of the XFCE iso, updated the repos to Bookworm, and installed a few #flatpaks. I thought to do #Snaps but those got #borked on a prior installation on the Mango Pi.

Shortwave and Dillo run great. Firefox is slow but functional. Using @ActionRetro Frog Find made both browsers way more enjoyable.

And the saga continues. At one point I thought Pi-Hole was to blame, except it’s not working even when it’s turned off.

I may do some more tweaking in the future, but I am pretty happy with how things turned out on #TrinityDE.

So far it has been a pretty usable lil system. Web browsing is on par with old dial-up. Besides that, after an app opens they seem to be quite responsive/snappy.

Now I am glad I #borked my MangoPi Quad #SBC as I do not think I would have looked into the Trinity DE.

#Sleep schedules on Apple’s mobile devices have gotten really #borked up. Because of the holiday, I shifted my usual weeknight bedtime of 1030 to a while later tonight via my phone. But just now realized that change didn’t make it to my watch which auto switched to sleep #focus 20 minutes ago.

I also had set a later wake up time for this morning since I was off work today, but felt my watch buzz with text #notifications several times before my alarm went off. 😡

here's a #trap for #intune sysadmins - if you modify any settings in your #SCEP certificate config policy, all your devices are going to locally invalidate their certifcate and want to issue a new one.
