Regarding the eco- #climate clusterfuck and our collective inaction, I heard the comparison of our behaviour to the slow-boiled frog not climbing out of the pan while it still can.
You know, someone should do a #brainscan of the frog and find the region that is governing its inaction. And then find that very region in humans' own brains.
For a show-and-tell: "Look, how similar we are to frogs! And we as species have the audacity to negligently destroy their species' habitat and their way of life?! It's as if you were regularly trampling thru all your neighbours' veggie garden."
#Yoda would say: Strong in this species the brainstem is.
We tell ourselves and others how very smart we think we are as species – which, unquestioned, somehow justifies all the overly destructive behaviour. Smart, my ass. But it wasn't always like this, not in all cultures, as one learns in #DavidGraeber and Wengrow's The Dawn Of Everything.
Cultures rooted in the Mosaic religions most definitely are like that, tho.
