I created the bootable Debian USB for my mom's chromebook but I still need to change BIOS settings. Her chromebook was particularly locked down security wise. I ended up having to download the flash_cb_fw.sh file and I still have to edit it. That's for tomorrow or the next day though. Also fuck google. Auf #TheRegister habe ich heute einen Artikel gelesen, in dem's um das Ende von #Windows10 geht, und die hatten geschrieben, dass #ChromeOS Flex eine ganz okaye Alternative wäre. Habe ich mal auf einem alten Notebook installiert, und mal abgesehen davon, dass es mit "nur" 8GB RAM gut läuft, ist es gar nicht mal so gut.

Wenn man eh schon komplett im #Google- und Chrome-Universum unterwegs ist, kann man damit leben, aber sobald man da irgendwas selbst machen will, kannste vergessen. Da ist, glaube ich eines der Linuxe eine wesentlich bessere Alternative.

Liking the look of FydeOS though not paying for updates on some versions. It would be good if it became a option on any Chromebook once support for Chrome OS runs out, though when mine do I'll probably run Flex or Linux Mint. Good vid Michael! #Chromebook #ChromeOS #FydeOS

so if Google is forced to sell #Chrome, what happens to #ChromeOS or the whole Chromebook line? would OpenAI or another company want to support the products for education? What stops everyone from switching to a different #chromium browser? This 50 billion dollar figure doesn't make any sense.

Arm Chromebooks are set for a big performance jump. Devs are adding Snapdragon X Plus support, promising strong AI capabilities thanks to its 45 TOPS NPU. This could finally make Arm Chromebooks genuinely fast and efficient.

Very disappointing to see that there is no what's new in #ChromeOS talk at #GoogleIO this year. I probably won't even watch the keynote this year because no doubt it will be #AI this and AI that. Honestly, I might switch to #FydeOS at some point because #Google is really starting to suck.
