Just published "Managing the common cold," an overview of the rituals I use to avoid catching colds, which are probably placebos and may not work for anyone else but hey it's my blog.

Chronic fatigue can suck my dick.

Ok I don't have one. But if I did, it could.

Every single time there is a really cool Covid protection development, I get excited only to find out it's in the 'mice test' phase. I know patience is a virtue and all, but I'd love something as cool as this to actually be here (tested, proven, and readily available)!

has a nasty / going around.

Saw someone with it - they looked 15 years older - had poorly coordinated walking and were sweating on a mild evening.

Also heard they'd isolated an for a week due to this virus.

Common cold is a great excuse and a reason to lower one’s own ambition level for a while. Can’t really recommend it but it works.

Being cold isn’t why you get a cold. But it is true that cold weather makes it easier to catch respiratory viruses such as the #cold and #flu.

Ugh I feel awful.
Was trapped for a few hours last Saturday on a delayed Eurostar platform with hundreds of people crammed together.
I've picked up something, no fever though so that's good at least, but oh my chest and sinuses.
Indoor cat for a while, until I can sleep properly again.

Flying back today from a work trip. Husband and I wear #N95 masks indoors anywhere.

Everyone at the airport is sick. The wet coughs, the hacking, the sneezing… does everyone else just not hear it? Is everyone oblivious to the sickness?

We made it hear by masking and didn’t get sick on the flight in. Hoping it’s true on the return trip.

The is, in my opinion, the most annoying kind of disease you can get. It’s just virulent enough to slip past your defences and provoke an immune response, yet it’s (almost always) not serious enough to require medical attention.
