Brewed to be a West Coast-style IPA, 'Capacitor has notes of stone fruit, grapefruit and tropical citrus, along with pine resin. At 6.7%, it won't make you regret your decisions in the past, but if you polish the six-pack, it just might.

Out of the can, 'Capacitor produces a strong amount of of off-white head, resting on a clear pool of gold. Receding, there remains isolated constellations of head inside the glass, while a blanket of lace rests on the surface.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of grapefruit and tropical citrus, stone fruit, and some pine resin.
Sipping, we recover those same notes along with some bubblegum and caramel sweetness, finished with dank pine resin. Overall, 'Capacitor has a medium mouthfeel, an alcoholic warmth on the palate, and a lingering bitterness that hits the back of the throat and the sides of the tongue.

The #SistersFreshHopFestival is taking place today, so I thought I'd share a few of the #CentralOregon #FreshHop beers I've enjoyed lately. #ThreeCreeksBrewing, #CruxFermentationProject, and #SunriverBrewing all have excellent fresh hop beers out this year, among my favorites so far! Cheers!
This past weekend, #CruxFermentationProject hosted its first Saisons on the Lawn, a mini-festival featuring a lineup of nine saisons from Oregon breweries, taking advantage of a warm spring day (maybe the first we’ve had!) to kick off this inaugural event. As part of the day’s festivities, Crux also quietly reintroduced its weekend brunch for the first time since the pandemic.
This Saturday, April 22, #CruxFermentationProject presents its springtime #saison festival — #SaisonsOnTheLawn! Featuring a lineup of nine saisons from Crux and other breweries pouring from noon until 8pm, with proceeds benefitting the #OregonBrewersGuild.

Each year, #CruxFermentationProject releases Doublecross, its dark Belgian-style strong ale, a big specialty brew that weighs in at 11% ABV with 21 IBUs. Brewed as a winter seasonal, it fits right into the holiday season but it’s strong enough to hold up to aging for drinking any time of the year.

Released every year, #cruxfermentationproject's Tough Love was one of the first barrel-aged, imperial stouts that founder Larry Sidor made. Now in its 10th year, Tough Love remains a release about balance between what comes from the barrel and what goes into it. This week, #CruxFermentationProject provided me with two of its recent beers: Tough Love Barrel-Aged #ImperialStout and Doublecross Dark Belgian-Style Ale. Tough Love is the 10th anniversary edition of the Banished series stout, aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels.
