Had a power outage tonight. The APC UPSes did fine. Most of the CyberPower UPSes decided to not do fine. No warnings. And when power came back, they all claimed to have a huge battery reserve (that didn't even last seconds in reality).
This is going to be an expensive lesson for myself, never trust #CyberPower
Speaking of #UPS, does anyone out there have advice regarding putting a #lithium #lifepo4 battery into a consumer ups?
There are 12v 10ah lithium batteries that fit / match the typical pb acid 12v 9ah typical in many consumer models, including my 1000va #cyberpower unit.
I can’t find any definitive advice on the internet…

The interface is hideous and completely un-mac-like. No Dark mode. The dock icon is old-timey round, disproportionately large, and un-hideable; and the menubar icon is bright red without a grayscale option. 🤮

PowerPanel service for Windows (#Cyberpower UPS monitoring software) will crash when starting ... if there is an Android (perhaps specific model or perhaps other USB device) connected to computer at the time it is starting (probably a problem with enumerating USB ports). Reported years ago and it still isn't fixed. Engineers at Cyberpower can't even reproduce ti nor they care about it. 🤷♂️
