I finally found bushings that fit the strikers on my 99 Ford Exploder. The front doors are much easier to open now. I also got new bushings (same dims) for the rear passenger doors, but they became very hard to open. Swapped the rear passenger back to the original striker bushing. The rear driver door on the other hand... will not open. #DIWHY

My kid's mini Mardi gras float is due tomorrow, and apparently so is everybody else's.The only hot glue sticks I could find last minute turned out to be too big for our glue gun...

A hammer drill where the chuck with a drill bit has broken off

Here's a #diwhy from a few months ago.

I needed to do some additional repairs to the plumbing bits up near the window shade, but the rented scaffolding had been sent back already. (I already did what I could by climbing down onto the windowshade from the roof, but there was more stuff to do just below.)

It worked out fine, even though these bamboo ladders aren't very good.

Kitchen update: All the old flooring and underlayment under the West wall cabinetry has been removed, the cabinets have been put back in place with new plywood underlayment under them, and spouse is now removing the top layer of vinyl flooring and plywood from the open area.

A person who clearly hasn't knitted in at least two years has attempted to make a knock off of the iPhone Pocket in periwinkle. The ill-advised project lies at an angle with a phone in it on a rumpled unbleached canvas table cloth next to the deflated remains of the skien. The 26 stitch knit-1/purl-1 ribbed tube (US #2 needle, medium cotton yarn) has a seam up the back not visible in the picture , left partially open to line up where the front has essentially a giant vertical button hole taking up about 3/8th of the length. There is at least one purl where a knit should be. It seems safe to assume that at least a few straggling ends of yarn are hiding inside the pocket, waiting to be woven in.

We have everything ordered except cabinet hardware (hinges, drawer glides). Appliances are ordered, but will be delivered when we’re ready for them.

I’m still waiting on stain/finish to arrive so I can stain samples of our cabinet plywood to see how it will look with the new flooring. The stains I’ve tried so far have not yielded the color I am hoping to achieve.

I know, my life is so exciting and glamorous.

The middle row has been tested with a White Oak Wiping Stain, and its black plastic pouch sits in the foreground. Various small pieces of solid oak are strewn about with various stains tested on them, and small sample bottles of stain with white caps rest in a shallow cardboard tray that once held cat food.

Seven boxes of Lifeproof Ledge Point Pecan, each containing 6 planks, are stacked on our basement floor.

I have just been informed by spouse that we can’t make the cabinets before installing the new flooring, because there is no space to put them once they are built, except in the kitchen.

But the old cabinets have to come out (at least temporarily) before we can install the floor b/c they are currently sitting on an underlayment that has to be taken out first.

Hoo boy.
