The partnership between Braxman and iodeOS is concerning for sure. It does not make the project appear trustworthy at all.

But I feel you are mixing iodeOS and /e/OS which is not good practice.

Lets stay with /e/OS for a while as it is more obviously a degrated LineageOS.

Breaking source code licenses is really bad and fits into the image of /e/OS. But again, the stretch to iodeOS is not founded.

I know of DivestOS and it was a very good project. Basing off LineageOSes tooling is not bad, being their downstream is more problematic.

I thought of installing #DivestOS on my old Pixel, but even then GrapheneOS was newer.

Afaik iodeOS has improvements over LineageOS.

Wer hat denn von euch alles Erfahrungen mit Linux auf dem Handy und wie sieht's da im Vergleich zu einem freien Android wie z. B. GrapheneOS oder auch das leider eingestellte DivestOS in Sachen Datenschutz und Sicherheit aus und wie ist da der Stand der Entwicklung?

Oder kann man es nicht miteinander vergleichen?

Im Kuketz Forum habe ich gelesen, dass Linux auf dem Handy in Sachen Datenschutz und/oder Sicherheit 10 Jahre lang Android hinterher hingt.

Stimmt das wirklich so?

Mir gefällt auch schon mal PostmarketOS gut, was ich bisher so darüber gelesen habe und deshalb auf dem Schirm habe, um dessen Entwicklung auch zu verfolgen.

There was #DivestOS made for devices that were no longer "in support" but apparently that project got canceled at the start of the year.

My brain is just going crazy that the #USGov is gonna come after me by subpoenaing my data from google, even though I have long since turned all privacy-sharing settings off on my phone.

These older devices may not be the most powerful, but they still can be useful, especially for those without access to better phones.

Yes, it's the continuation of the Mull browser from the sadly now defunct #DivestOS project.

Seitdem #DivestOS eingestampft wurde, finde ich keinen gescheiten Antivirus mehr via F-Droid. Brauch ich das bei #GrapheneOS nicht?

Holy crap. #DivestOS shutdown?! I wasn't using them directly because I had #grapheneos available on my pixel, but I used #Mull and Carion. What are the alternatives now? I see IronFox in Accrescent. Is it comparable?

There is a fork called IronFox. Unfortunately it is not in the official F-Droid repository, and I don't think they have reproducible builds, either :(
