Bei der suche nach einer ordentlichen definition von faschismus auf englisch wird mir dieser schwurbelartikel als erstes ergebnis angezeigt. Nicht nur ist die definition völlig ausgehölt und passt auf jedes land das als diktatorisch bezeichnet wird sondern sie ist auch falsch. Die regierung nimmt nicht übermäßige kontrolle im faschismus sondern die firmen bereichern sich bei der unterstützung des faschismus (siehe USA).

Also raus da!

If you are outraged over Mozilla putting "ai" features into Firefox, you should be just as offended by your search engine pushing, promoting, and profiting from them as well. :NoAI:

That is why I am giving @MetaGer a try. It ticks off most of the boxes of my search engine wish list. They respects your privacy by not spying on you, no ads, open source, nonprofit with a community led open governance model, custom filtering & prioritization, and most importantly they doesn't push a LLM onto you.

While I cannot find any mention of their stance on LLMs (please let me know if you have a source). Their social media posts seem to suggest they are not fans of it. The fact that they try to filter out slop and do not offer "ai" features is such a relief.

Since they do not have ads they rely on a donation of about €0.01 per search. I think that is reasonable. I am willing to pay for a good service that does not make me the product.

When I search for

"independent planets armed forces" rank insignia

I very clearly don't want or need to see any other search result, that doesn't have the exact phrace "independent planets armed forces" somewhere found on the website linked in the search results. Actually I mustn't see any non related results, if you as DuckDuckGo-developer want to be taken serious by anybody.

It's like searching for food recipes with "tomatoes" and getting one recipe for Bolognese and thousands for random foods not containing any tomato.

If there are no results then show me no results. It's a nobrainer really.

Forgot that #DuckDuckGo is blocked in #Indonesia.

@copysent Have you seen the Mozilla financial reports? Neither have I 😎. But I heard on an episode of @linuxuserspace that it's weird for the foundation to be in dire straits. Anyway, no one is forced to use Firefox, you don't want AI, turn to #VivaldiBrowser or #DuckDuckGo. I really dig them both.

You can turn off DuckDuckGo’s AI and not even think about it until you run a search in a private tab/window and possibly get AI results. To avoid that, I use the noai subdomain, but every page has a link to Duck AI for some reason. 🤔
