​:matrix:​ Matrix : Synapse et Dendrite changent de propriétaire et de licence !

Synapse et Dendrite, les implémentations serveur de référence du protocole Matrix, protocole de communication instantanée décentralisé et chiffré, actuellement gérés par la fondation Matrix.org, vont être forkés par l'entreprise Element, créatrice originale du protocole.

La fondation vas abandonner ses propres dépôts, et conseille d'utiliser la version d'Element. Element est le principal contributeur de Matrix depuis sa création, avec environ 95% des contributions.

Les dépôts passeront de la licence Apache à l'AGPLv3, obligeant ainsi les entreprises utilisant Synapse ou Dendrite, souvent concurrentes d'Element, à ouvrir leur code source, afin qu'Element ne soit plus la seule à contribuer au code.

Ce changement de licence s'accompagne également de l'obligation pour les futurs contributeurs de signer une CLA, donnant ainsi tous les droits sur leurs contributions à Element, qui prévois de vendre des versions des serveurs sous une licence plus permissive que l'AGPLv3.

Am I getting old or WTF?
I got asked to use #ElementChat for any #PixelFed updates. So I installed and started to create an account, but my nickname was taken and I was confused because mine is almost unique, so I checked and happen that I have that account with a old #Gmail acc (I abandoned it) and I don't remember I made that acc, besides I don't know who's that girl on the pic. I always use Airi Suzuki's pics!!
