My Fedora Linux backpack and towel did arrive, yay 🥳 (plus some Fedora and KDE T-Shirts)

Stunning good quality from hellotux.com

And with the code „FEDORA5“ there’s $5 of discount as well.

I hate to say it but #F42 has been glitchy.

daily instances where I'm thinking "that didn't used to happen" like delays when pushing the power button to get it to sleep, and rendering artifacts around windows. not easily reproducible things.

Why does this feel worse than #F41? #Fedora #Fedora42

(for the record I gave it a few update cycles before saying anything)

So, I’ve basically reinstalled the system from a USB drive and am now restoring #backups. Luckily, I backed up all the #Dotfiles and configurations and so the #desktop is behaving as before, which is a big relief. On the up side, it’s booting a lot faster and the #disk has #btrfs #partition, rather than #Ext4.

For the first time, I had real problems with #upgrading my #Fedora #GNU #Linux operating system. I ended up getting a useless system (by which I mean, it would boot but would never give me a log in screen, like #sddm, nor would the #keyboard respond, except the power button and there were no #VirtualTerminals to log in to either).

Left my laptop updating overnight here at work, and came back to a login screen when I arrived. Upgrade to #Fedora42 from #Fedora 41 was, once again, a success! Of course, there was one difference before rebooting after all of the upgrade packages for #F42, and that's the command to perform the upgrade offline (if you're upgrading via DNF). Be sure to pay attention before you reboot! Also, follow the instructions posted here by the Fedora team. #linux

Looks like I'll be upgrading my #Fedora laptop to #F42 soon! :flan_hurrah:🐧 #linux
