#FolderWeek

If you’re looking for a good 6x6 folder for the next #FolderWeek, my local shop, National Camera, has just listed a few EXC and VG condition Voigtlander Perkeo 1 cameras. Here’s a link to one of them. The price is fair. natcam.com/products/voigtlande

I had a nice discussion last week (?) with some film folks about how we're looking for a more positive spirit event like #FolderWeek to get us to shoot and share more work with vintage film cameras and we settled on TLRs (Twin Lens Reflex) cameras. So here's the inaugural #TLRTuesday post (hashtag is still under work-shopping)?

Also an homage to #TrainTuesday, I sadly don't have enough regular train access to keep going, but maybe someday.

A sunny color photo of two old-timey street cars facing each other seperated by an intersection surrounded by palm tree lined brick laid streets. The closer tram to the left is partially visible is a very vivid yellow top and ornage bottom and the farther tram is a white top with a blue bottom, both looking very vintage and dapper. Shot with a Rolleiflex Standard1935 and ZeissTessar75f3.5 lens, on KodakGold200, and developed with BelliniC41 by Shom Bandopadhaya. You could scare cats and little children with this...

Is this Inos II (and its close relative Bessa E) the only self-erecting lens-on-rails folding camera model there is? I'd like to know whether there are any comparable designs.

Think I managed to reset Inos II infinity focus; only a test film can tell how close I really got.
Needed just to bend the shutter bracket a bit more, and remove a burr that prevented the base plate opening fully (was missing just 1-2°s from the full 90°)

As I feared, the infinty focus of the Inos II is way off the mark. The infinity focus point is now at about the 8m mark on the distance scale. I estimated that I'd need to move the shutter some ~1,5mm further away from the film plane...

@tomnorthfilm: Thanks for the idea of #FolderWeek.

The camera is a Semi Leotax R 6x4.5 folder, from around 1953. (A few more details are in the alt text from the original post.)

I didn't mention in the alt text that there's a problem with the rollers (I think) -- horizontal dark streaks on the film due to some kind of mechanical abrasion in the emulsion path. Photoshop non-AI retouch does OK with that, but it's tedious. I would use the camera a lot more were it not for that problem.

I've been on lookout for older folders for well over a year. Now, within a few weeks, two opportunities presented itself: good condition, reasonable price.

What should a man do? Buy them both!

Shhh 🤫 Don't tell my wife. I might have bought a new camera. Actually, not that new; about 110 years old. It has a lens by H. Duploich Lens, Paris, France - a rectilinear lens,

That's a photo of the camera folded. I'm saying no more until I have seen it myself. It could be an interesting camera for #FolderWeek
