Of these #GNUstep provides two. Only one (Foundation) works.
The other one (AppKit) doesn't.
@sgharms Apple still develops #macOS more than #GNUstep ever evolved. Problem is I don't like the direction it's going. I don't want a network request for every app that I open.
But GNUstep won't help. It's just a POC, not able to deliver meaningful software anymore.
In case you want to develop #ObjC on living systems, try @objfw on literally any OS out there. In case you want a system where ObjC really is used to develop current applications, try #MorphOS.

The source code for the wmlive build tree has been made available at sourceforge.net/projects/wml... to allow custom wmlive builds.
Except for the i386 variant, the soon to be uploaded iso images will be contained in an encrypted 7z archive requiring a password to be unpacked.

After a few weeks' worth of work and debugging, the #wmlive package repository at https://wmlive.rumbero.org/repo/ has finally been updated with a new branch named wmlive-trixie. This branch contains all the wmlive specific packages required to build wmlive-trixie ISO images.

Básicamente es un entorno de trabajo (framework) que sigue la API #Cocoa. Pero con el estilo, por defecto, de #NeXTSTEP. Tan pasado de moda hoy en día.
GNUstep no es un escritorio; aunque tiene una base. Y, bueno, existen temas. Pero queda, en mi opinión, en tierra de nadie.
Good news for users of Pentium class machines:
It is perfectly possible to build a fully functional Franken-wmlive for 32-bit combining the Bookworm installer/kernel with the Debian/Trixie i386 software pool.
So, unless a showstopper suggests otherwise, there will also be an i386 version of #wmlive.

Dear #gnustep enjoyers, I’m a bit lost. You have at least 3 different docks! The one that comes with WindowMaker, the paper clip that is desktop-specific, and that GWorkspace thing that I have not figured out yet (it only works on 1 monitor?). Also, there’s a shelf?
Yet, when I see screenshots, I seem to only see an incomplete combination of those things. What am I supposed to use?
We plan to publish a new #wmlive version based on Debian/Trixie stable point release 13.2 for the week after its scheduled release on Saturday, 15th November 2025.
Work on wmlive-trixie is already in progress but still requires significant time for completion. To invest the required time needed to accomplish the planned end goal we do need some financial support.
