Es kommen ein paar Sachen zusammen: Grokipedia stieg recht kräftig in die Suchmaschinenergebnisse ein und fällt nun offenbar ebenso kräftig wieder raus (zumindest vorerst), und weiter gabs eine interessante Abhandlung zu den verschiedenen Metriken und ihren Größenordnungen jeweils der Grok- und Wikipedia und den daraus resultierenden Signale in Richtung der diversen Aggregatoren, Indexe, Algorithmen etc.pp.
Weiter schaute ich mir letztens aus Jux den Grokipedia-Artikel zu Utopiastadt an, wobei ich mir ein gewisses Hintergrundwissen und die damit einhergehende Beurteilungsfähigkeit attestieren mag, weil ich einerseits das Projekt gut kenne und andererseits sowohl die zugehörigen Artikel in der deutschen wie auch der englischen Wiki geschrieben habe. Mit dem Hintergrund ist die Lektüre des Grokipedia-Artikels natürlich ein Fest der Absurdität, aber eigentlich ists mir gar nicht so an den billigen Gags gelegen (wobei, haha, irgendwie auch), vor allem halt an den zutagetretenden Prozessen, Pannen und Ergebnissen/Folgen, das Ganze betrachtet aus der Perspektive meines Steckenpferds: der Frage nach der globalen Organisation von Wissen und seiner Voraussetzbarkeit in der Gesellschaft.
Vor ein paar Wochen wurde auf seoroundftable noch abgewogen, ob die Googlesichtbarkeit der KI-Enzyklopädie grade einfach einen Schluckauf beim Zunehmen hat, heute scheint das eher ein solides „nee, taugt doch nicht“-Urteil der SERPs zu sein. Kräftig eingestiegen und dann innerhalb kurzer Zeit zwei Drittel der Suchmaschinensichtbarkeit eingebüßt, ich werf grade nur SEO-Bauchgefühl in die Waagschale, die seh ich aber sehr in Richtung „Auf Nutzerzufriedenheit angetestet, Ergebnis: will niemand lesen“ ausschlagen.
Warum ist das so? Man will natürlich lachen und sagen, selbst Google hasst Musk und seine Fascho-Propagandaschleuder, die Gründe werden trivialer sein.

#TIL there is a profession called #Desnuda. It originated at parties held by the Latin American community in #NewYork and parallel developments such as the #OutdoorCoEdToplessPulpFictionAppreciationSociety. Desnudas allow tourists to take photos of them in #TimesSquare in exchange for tips. They often come from #Venezuela or #Colombia and prefer this work to the #lowWageSector. There have been arrests for fraud and panhandling, as well as aggressive disputes between competing (groups of?) Desnudas. Desnudas are dressed in #highHeels, #thongs, #fascinator and very simple #bodyPainting in the colours of the US flag: red, white and blue.#Grokipedia has a long, detailed article. #Wikipedia has a very short article in English and #Bengali, but not in German, Spanish, Portuguese or any other language.
There is only one photo of a desnuda in Wikipedia, and that was imported from #Flickr. Because there is only one photo, there is no Commons category for desnuda.
Every year, millions of tourists come to Times Square and take hundreds of millions of photos, including and especially of and with the desnuda. And yet no one has uploaded a single photo of one or more Desnudas to Wikipedia, and only one has been imported.

Jedes Jahr kommen Millionen Touristen auf den Times Square und mschen 100te millionen fotos, auchvund gerade von und mit den Desnudas. Und trotzdem hat niemand ein einziges foto einer oder mehrer Desnudas in Wikipedia hochgeladen und nur eines wurde importiert.
Wenn ihr auf dem Times Square seid, oder dort wart, oder dort hinkomnt, dann macht doch fotos und ladet sie in wikipedia hoch.

"Rather than relying on external datasets like the Dublin and Cornell authors (and thus having to limit their conclusions to only those citations covered by these datasets), the Davis authors were able to classify every citation in their dataset. This was achieved by "develop[ing] and appl[ying] a systematic content coding scheme based on [their own] 'Citation Content Coding Manual' [...] to assign each unique citation to exactly one of eight mutually exclusive categories", such as "Academic & Scholarly", "Government & Official", or "User-Generated (UGC)". Regarding RQ2, the results revealed
a fundamental divergence in the substrate of authority used by each platform. Wikipedia is anchored by a dual foundation of "News & Journalism" and "Academic & Scholarly" sources. Together, these two categories account for approximately 64.7% of the global corpus [...] In Grokipedia, the reliance on "News & Journalism" remains robust, merely being reduced by 20 percent. However, the "Academic" pillar drops significantly, experiencing a 3-fold reduction [...]. Grokipedia substitutes scholarly sources with an increase in citations to Corporate & Commercial, Reference & Tertiary, Government & Official, Opinion & Advocacy, –all increasing by almost 50 percent of their Wikipedia share– and especially NGOs/Think Tanks (whose share increases by 3x), and User-Generated Content (UGC) sources (whose share increases by 4x) [...]"
