It took me way too many years to learn to play and experiment with my work, instead of doing what I know or what I thought was expected of me. But I always told students that artists are like mad scientists, and I have to live that more.
In that spirit I'm spending the last days of the year playing with paper pulp (and poetry), and getting a new version of this project off the ground. I'm thinking about making boxed sets?

Lion, black watercolor on handmade paper with pieces of tobacco leaves in it. This paper absorbs all the paint immediately, which makes it both very hard and fun to paint on. At least I think it's fun, because it is different and a challenge.

We visited a 13th century paper mill in a town in #France that at one point had 13 mills. This worker there was nice enough to give us a tour, but the other mill, that is actually also as a museum, was already closed for the winter.

@Axiom @fiberarts considering I'll soon be regularly getting these things falling on my head & arms for a few months, this is a nice looking reminder of a future use of said plant part.
