Only after I saw the picture of what she needed, did I know. The product was for a dedicated apple headset with a USB C output, intended to input into an older iphone.
Don't buy apple.
Wolke really likes #Qobuz, but when trying to download an #audiobook it told Wolke “you either have to download each track by yourself or install our software that btw only runs on Microslops Windoof or the bitten apples toy OS”. Dang it, what is the problem with collections bigger than 100 files for your zip download? Guess Wolke needs to download everything by hand ... Urgh

@wravoc IMHO, #TPM & #UEFI are both #Scams and neither can be trusted due to being #backdoored and #Bloatware respectably.
Personally, I want a machine that is purposefully #incompatible with #CensorBoot by #Microsoft (and thus #Windows11) by using #LinuxBoot / #NERF and no TPM at all!
Sadly I guess that means I've to use the #RISCv version of the @frameworkcomputer mainboard for that...
The fact that UEFI has more code than the #Linux #Kernel with all it's drivers yet less than 100 contributors makes it inacceptable!

It's a documted issue nowadays. buggy bios version that shipped in the store when i bought it. ran Linux so didn't get the update. one port failed and i figured "o well it's got 2 right? whatever" and then when the other one died i didn't have the chance or awareness to do anything. theoretically if i could somehow charge the battery outside the laptop and put it in again i could do the update and it would probably work again. but not even the slightly newer refresh of the same model has the same battery connector - it's the same 8 leads in the same order but the plug is #incompatible
So I dug around until I found a #current part that exceeds all the #specs of the old one. Of course it's a different size, and a completely #incompatible #pinout, so I'm going to have to #bodge it, but I half-expected that anyway.
Just getting a #datasheet for the old part, to figure out what specs it had to have, was surprisingly #difficult. What is it with some companies thinking the specs for the product they want you to buy are Top Secret?

#Apple is getting famous for this lately. You can replace parts in an Iphone or Ipad, but they won't work right because they're paired by serial numbers for no operational purpose whatsoever.
