Man I do not have good luck securing Zapotec jalapeño seeds!
Last year the seeds I bought from a seller as zapotec jalapeños grew into frigging bell peppers. So for this year I went to a different seller and the seeds I was sent as Zapotec grew into this!
The extreme corking of these peppers indicate these are what's called Farmers Market jalapeños. I'll probably save some seeds from these for next year as it's a quirky kind of jalapeno pepper, but dang it's hard to get actual Zapotec seeds!!!
I went to Mexico and attended the Jalapeno unConference. Read all about it here

[3/3] the salsa is ready... I made a batch with mango/habañero (pictured) and it is so spicy that I'm all sweaty and a bit nauseous... it's not like "only a real pepperhead can handle this" spicy, it's more like "medically dangerous levels of capsaicin" spicy... but I'll live... maybe...

Takes a lot of gin and tonics (gins and tonic?) to get through this many cucumbers, but I'm making my best effort

Stop the press - I can make homemade sriracha??
Suddenly my too-many jalapenos are not-enough jalapenos!

My too-many jalapenos are heat-stressed, as are most of the other peppers. Had a feeling they were about to drop all their fruits, so I picked everything that was big enough to use...
This is a whole lot of peppers and chiles.
Also, mulling over how to do a better shade cloth structure over them. At present, our camping screen house is providing some shelter.

Sister's been busy, but found the time to grow some spicy peppers: Carolina Reaper, Jalapeños, & more! 🌶️ #CarolinaReaper #Jalapeño #Spicy #NorthCarolina
I’ve outdone myself at least tenfold with this one. Smoking the jalapenos, tomatillos and onion that went into this batch was the best thing I've done in a long time. What a difference it made. Mild jalapeno heat with a touch of vinegary tanginess and the subtle taste (and smell) of applewood smoke. Delicious.
The first #chili #pepper I harvested this year is this nice #jalapeño. Part of it is black, which is supposed to be the stage before they start to turn red. It was quite a bit hotter than what I'm used to from jalapeños.
The habanero is also starting to get some tiny fruits. Looking forward to tasting those once they're fully grown and red. They should be really hot; for my taste at least.
